No Comments Wanted?

No Comments Wanted? - 05/15/13 07:50 PM

The DW has another Ron Armstrong rant in the 5/15 online edition. Ordinarily, posting a reply is a glacially-slow process as the moderator mulls it over for up to several days. In this case, the decision is instant: "Comments for this thread are now closed."
Some people are not to contradicted.

I don't want anyone to think I am defending Ron Armstrong, because he is a nut ( apologies to walnuts, peanuts, filberts, and almonds), but the daily world hasn't allowed comments to letters for a long time.

I'll be damned. Previous editors/publishers did not allow comments to letters as they were written by the average Joe who may not be up to the harsh comments that may result from certain opinions. The hope was to keep "the average Joe" writing in.

A new editor or publisher appears to have modified that policy. I don't know why Armstrong's is off limits.
